How to Brew Indian Filter Coffee (Traditional Method)
Add Coffee Powder
Put 2–3 tablespoons of Indian filter coffee powder into the upper chamber of the filter.
Press with the Dabra Disc
Place the perforated pressing disc lightly over the coffee powder (do not press too hard).
Pour Hot Water
Add boiling water (about 100–120 ml) into the top chamber.
Close the Lid & Wait
Cover and let the water slowly drip through the coffee grounds.
The decoction collects in the lower chamber.
Brewing time: 10–15 minutes for a strong decoction.
Prepare the Coffee
Add 2–3 tablespoons of decoction to a cup.
Add Milk & Sugar
Pour in hot milk and sugar to taste. Adjust decoction quantity for strength.
Froth It (Optional but Traditional)
Pour the coffee between a tumbler and dabara a few times to create a foamy top.
